I. NOTICE OF COORDINATION WITH NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY & NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATION

Coastal Bend College recognizes that it is important to coordinate this protocol with existing Coastal Bend College policies related to harassment and discrimination knowing that harassment related to an individual's sex, sexual orientation, or gender expression can occur in conjunction with misconduct and harassment related to a person's race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, pregnancy or parenting status, disability, or other protected status. Therefore, when a report is made that alleges both harassment and discrimination based on sex as well as an allegation of some other form of discrimination, Coastal Bend College will work to use all relevant policies respectively to address the complaints and will coordinate the investigation and resolution efforts.
Coastal Bend College is committed to maintaining an environment free from harassment and discrimination for everyone and does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other protected status Further, Coastal Bend College does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any educational, employment, athletic, or extracurricular activity. Sexual misconduct, as described in this protocol, is a form of sexual harassment, which is a form of discrimination and is prohibited by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
