             Program Overview 

    Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas, currently hosts the Talent Search Program which was originally funded in 1976. The Talent Search Program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the post-secondary institution of their choice. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youths from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in the post-secondary educational institution of their choice.   

            Mission Statement      

    Talent Search is a federally funded program designed to identify and assist individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds (low-income and first-generation) who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the post-secondary institution of their choice.
