Testing Tips:
  

 
  • Have handy your social security number and picture ID.  
  • Familiarize yourself with the testing area, bathroom location, your computer setup and chair so you feel comfortable during testing.  
  • Gather your thoughts and relax before the test begins.  
  • Pay careful attention to directions.  Be sure you understand them before you begin each test.  
  • Understand that you may not go back to change an answer once it has been submitted.  
  • Eliminate one or more of the choices, when you are unsure of the correct answer; then pick one of the remaining choices.  
  • Do not bring food, drink, textbooks, notebooks, dictionaries, or other papers of any kind into the testing room.  The Test Administrator will provide all materials for use with the tests.  
  • If you bring a cell phone or other electronic device into the testing room, you will be asked to turn the item off and place it with other personal belongings on a table in the room away from the computers and examinees.  
  • Remember, no assisting others or yourself.  Anyone who gives or receives help during the test or uses notes or books of any kind will not be allowed to continue the test.  
  • Leave all test materials and scratch paper in the testing room when you leave.

    On the day of testing ask yourself the following questions: 
 

 

Am I:    feeling well?      well fed?     well rested?      well prepared?       AND   Do I have time to take my time testing and not feel rushed?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, congratulations, you are ready to take your TSI/Accuplacer exam.  Take a deep breath and relax and good luck on your exam.
 

If you answered no to the questions above, you may want to reschedule testing for a later time.  Contact your testing center to see about rescheduling.
