  • Biography 

     Bobbie Jo Hill received her Associates degree from San Antonio College in Biology with a minor in Mathematics. She received her Bachelor degree in Mathematics and  her Masters degree in Genetics from Texas State University. She is certified in special education, primary education, and  secondary education in mathematics and science. She has continued her studies in Mathematics at North Texas State, East Texas State, and Tx A&M College Station, and Tx A&M Corpus Christi.  She completed her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Tx A&M Corpus Christi. 

    Mrs. Hill has worked the past 13 years at Coastal Bend College as a Math and Science instructor, teaching the developmental math series 0305,1310,  0321, 0322, college algebra 1314, precalculus, trig, contemporary math, and business math. She has had the opportunity to work on the Achieving the Dream grant and helped in the planning of the supplemental instruction program for CBC. She also was involved in the Developmental Education Initiative and worked on aligning the developmental math series and designing the emporium model in the mathematics classes.  Recently she has helped design the student success course with the Dana Center at the University of Texas and Dr. Uri Treisman’s New Math Pathways project. She has taught 12 years in middle school, 2 years in the high school arena, and 10 years in the prison system’s academic and GED programs. 

    Mrs. Hill enjoys the country life, raising cattle, goats, dogs, cats, and her donkey. She enjoys raising her own garden and food for her animals. She especially loves her grandchildren and  has had to travel across the US and Europe to visit them.
