•     Mr. Bob Roberts currently teaches part-time for the Drafting & Design and Welding Departments.  He is the former Technology Division Chair and full-time instructor for Coastal Bend College.  Mr. Roberts began his journey as a pin-boy in a bowling alley run by a construction company.  He later took on maintenance and control counter responsibilities where he met and assisted patrons.  He also attended college during this time at Pittsburg State University to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Science Industrial Technology and was married.

He was called to duty and entered the Navy as an Engineering Aid in the Naval Construction Battalions (Seabees).  He served at San Nicolas Island, detachments at DaNang, Hue, Phu Bai, and Chu Lai Vietnam, where he worked on various construction projects.  He was then transferred to Naval Air Station Chase Field where he served the rest of his enlistment in the Engineering Division.

After the Navy, he was employed as an Engineering Tech and Sign Painter and furthered his education with a Masters Degree from Websters University.  He began teaching for the Drafting and Design Program and was a member of the Advisory Committee.  During this time he was promoted to Maintenance Control Director for Public Works where he supervised planners and estimators who inspected buildings and facilities for needed repairs.

At this time the need for a full-time instructor became needed at Coastal Bend College and Mr. Roberts accepted the opportunity to do something he loved to do-teach.  He became Division Chair in 2001 and has worked continually at Coastal Bend College assisting and mentoring students to graduate, enter the job market, and make it a career.  The joy and pride has never changed.
