    Purchase and Support Policy

    I. Hardware Purchase  

    All computer hardware and peripheral purchases will go through IT Services.  Submit for quotes at quotes@coastalbend.edu.  If you have specific requirements (types of drives, monitors, etc.) let them know at that time.  After receiving your request, they will seek to find the best price and vendor.  If they need to deviate from your specific requirements, they will let you know.  Once they have determined the best price and vendor, they will sign off on and return your requisition for you to pass through requisition channels.

    II. Hardware Support  

    IT Services will provide all hardware technical support for CBC computers.  For problems with desktop computers or any technical issue, submit a work order at http://kace.coastalbend.edu/.  For laptop computers, bring your laptop to the computer center for servicing.

    III. Home Computers  

    IT Services does not provide support for your home computer, including CBC supported software. If you are having trouble with your home computer, please call a local computer repair facility to have it serviced.

    All work orders are processed in the order in which they were received except in emergency cases.
