    Lavinia Isassi graduated from Texas A & I University – Kingsville in 1991 with a triple B.A. in English, psychology, and sociology.   She conferred her graduate degree from Texas A & M University in Kingsville in 1993 in English, with a minor in psychology.  She has over 24 graduate hours in sociology as well.

    Ms. Isassi teaches English 1301 and 1302 at Coastal Bend College.   She also teaches psychology and sociology courses.  She has been at Coastal Bend College for eight years, three years as an adjunct and five years as a full-time instructor.  She teaches classes face-to-face, online, though distance learning, and the week-end college program.  She teaches in Kingsville and Alice.

    A South Texas native, Ms. Isassi is interested in current events (from sports to politics) and popular culture.  Her academic areas of interest/specialty include social class, social inequality, deviance/crime, race relations, and discrimination.  Her teaching philosophy centers on practical application of her classes to the real world and the influence different disciplines have on each other.
