Dr. Kevin Behr has been employed by Coastal Bend since 1999 starting his career in Collegiate teaching. Prior to teaching, Dr. Behr enjoyed a career in law enforcement. He is currently assigned as the Director of Technical Instruction responsible for the management of 16 CBC Workforce Programs. Dr. Behr holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence and is a Master Texas Peace Officer with over 25 years of experience in law and law enforcement. His areas of instructional expertise include Criminal Investigation, Police Tactics, and Crime Scene Investigation and reconstruction. By choice, he maintains his skill and proficiency as a law enforcement officer and crime scene specialist. Employed part-time as a Sergeant for the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, Dr. Behr brings his advanced knowledge and aptitudes to both law enforcement and the classroom. Dr. Behr has been acknowledged for his teaching abilities by being awarded CBC Faculty of the Year in 2012 and the recipient of the nationally prestigious NISOD Excellence in Teaching and Leadership Award of the Year for 2012.
Dr. Behr is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Beeville, the current Vice President of the Board of Education for Beeville Independent School District and remains active within the community he serves. He is the father of five and a grandfather of four. In his off time, Dr. Behr likes to hunt, engage in competition shooting, and travel.
