Aguilar has over 20 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood. She started her education in 1978 when she
got out of high school but did not return to college until the fall of 1985,
after having her two sons. She attended
Del Mar College in 1985 and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science
Degree in Early Childhood Specialist.
She continued with her education at Corpus Christi State University
where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Training and
Development. After completing her degree
she worked at Private Industry Council (Work Source) for 3 years before coming
to Coastal Bend College. She began her
higher education teaching career August 1993 in the Alice site. She started the Child Development program
from the ground up. She worked with area
Head Starts and child care programs in providing child development courses for
their staff. Ms. Aguilar has trained
over 250 Head Start and child care staff in the Coastal Bend College service
delivery area. She enjoys teaching
college students and making a positive difference in their college education.
is a certified trainer in the Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers. As a certified trainer, she has traveled to
Austin, Dallas, Houston, Rio Grande Valley, California, New Mexico, Nebraska,
and Washington D.C. to provide training to Head Start and child care
has two Master degrees one in Early Childhood Education, and the other in
Occupational Training and Development.
She is currently pursuing a PHD in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A
& M University in Corpus Christi.
In her spare
time she enjoys spending time with her family.
She enjoys traveling. She has
traveled to Paris, Canada, California, Colorado, South Dakota, New Mexico, New
York, Washington, D.C.
