    Dr. Paula Kenney-Wallace completed her Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration at Del Mar College, nearly twenty years ago and completed her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, with a minor in Secondary Education Teaching, just before the turn of the current millennium. She went on to complete both her Master of Science in Mathematics, with an emphasis in Adult Education degree, and her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership degree at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Paula also attended the Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina and will be receiving Developmental Educator Certification.

    Paula began her teaching career with Coastal Bend College in 2009 at the Alice site. In 2011, she transferred to the Beeville campus, taking over the Math Emporium program, a project that was part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Developmental Education Initiative Grant, which was awarded to Coastal Bend College in 2009.  In February 2013, Paula was appointed Division Chair for Mathematics.  In Fall 2013, she became the Division Chair for Mathematics, Communications, & College Prep Studies, after these divisions were combined. Paula teaches primarily Math 0305, Math 0321, Math 0322, Math 1314, and Math 1332. Prior to coming to Coastal Bend College, Paula was the founding Director of the Learning Assistance Center at Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2004, and has taught mathematics courses at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and Del Mar College beginning in 2000. Her assignments included Lecturer, adjunct math faculty, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Kid’s College Math Instructor, Director of Corpus Christi TexPrep Pre-Freshman Engineering Program, Title V Learning Communities Math instructor, and Assistant Mathematics Instructor with the Math Learning Center. She began her teaching career over sixteen years ago, when she taught higher math classes to 6th, 7th, & 8th graders and high school students at a private Baptist Church school in Corpus Christi.

    Paula’s hobbies over the last thirty years have included basketball, biking, tennis, cross-stitch, needlepoint, latch hook rugs, foreign language acquisition, love of/raising animals, and love of/restoration of pre-1970 & 1980’s cars and trucks. Paula is also raising her two teenage children, and enjoys spending time with them and her husband of twenty-one years.
