Refund Information
Tuition and Mandatory Fee Refund Policy
Drops and withdrawals from college are official at the time that the Admissions/Registrar’s Office is notified. Notification is done by the completion of an Add/Drop Form. Students will have their tuition and mandatory fees refunded 100% before the first course day. As prescribed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Coastal Bend College refund policy is as follows:
Refund Guidelines
Students officially dropping or withdrawing from courses at Coastal Bend College will have their tuition calculated according to the following schedules:
Fall and Spring Semesters (16 Week Sessions)
100% Prior to the first class day* of semester
70% During class days* one (1) through fifteen (15)
25% During class days* sixteen (16) through twenty (20)
0 After the twentieth (20) class day*
Six Week Summer Sessions
100% Prior to the first class day* of semester
70% During class days* one (1) through five (5)
25% During class days* six (6) through seven (7
0 After the seventh (7) class day*
Flex-Term Sessions
100% Prior to the first class day* of semester

Tuition and fees paid directly to the institution by a sponsor, donor, or in a scholarship are refunded to the sources, not directly to the students. If a student who has a scholarship withdraws before the end of the semester, the scholarship may be revoked and the student may be required to repay the organization awarding the scholarship fund. If CBC has to return federal funds they will be returned in the following order: William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and other Title IV funded programs.
Financial Aid Refund Dates
Disbursements may occur up to one or more additional business days depending on student’s disbursement method preference selected through BankMobile disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc.
Fall 2023
Disbursements are processed every Thursday after census date (12th class day)
Loan disbursements are processed 30 days after the 1st class day
Spring 2024
Disbursements are processed every Thursday after census date (12th class day)
Loan disbursements are processed 30 days after the 1st class day
Summer 2024
Disbursements are processed every Thursday after Summer 2 census day (4th class day)
Loan disbursements are processed 30 days after the 1st class day for Summer 1 and Summer 2
