Darlene
Stockton attended Del Mar College and Corpus Christi State University to
complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. She started her graduate work at Corpus
Christi State University but transferred to Texas A & I University to
secure a Master of Science in Physical Education which Corpus Christi State University
did not offer at the time.
She taught
as an adjunct for Del Mar College after completing her Bachelor of Science degree
and as a graduate assistant at Texas A & I until she completed her graduate
work. After receiving her Master of
Science degree, she worked for the YWCA in Corpus Christi, Texas as the Health
Promotional Service Director and was responsible for the Health and Aquatic
Centers. For the last 25 years, she has
taught for Coastal Bend College (formally Bee County College).
She has pursued various fitness interests during
her life and continues to do so. She
enjoys most outdoor activities. Other than teaching her activity classes, she
is actively involved in equine activities, specifically dressage.
