Student Rights and
Responsibilities
Coastal Bend College is
a student centered community college committed to delivering superb educational
and life enriching opportunities to its students and the communities it serves.
In order to honor this commitment, the College District wants to keep students
informed of their rights and responsibilities when dealing with issues that
pertain to violations of the Student Code of Conduct, Title IX, Behavioral
Intervention, Grade Appeals, and student concerns.
Student Code of Conduct
Students who cause disorder and disrupt the
learning environment are subject to disciplinary action. Students are
responsible for familiarizing themselves with the Student Code of Conduct. The
Student Code of Conduct can be found online in the policy manual and
in the 2019-2020 Catalog and Student Handbook. The Student Code of Conduct describes prohibited behavior and
potential sanction(s) for violating the Code of Conduct. For assistance in

for an optimal educational experience. The Incident Report allows faculty,
staff, and students to voluntarily report behaviors that may raise concerns
about a student and/or community member's behaviors as well as incidents of misconduct. If there is an immediate threat of violence, or
