Danny Burns attended Ohio Northern University for two years
after being accepted into the Pharmacy School but withdrew for financial
reasons. After working for several
years, he entered the Defiance College where he completed a BA degree in
Natural Systems, concentrating in Chemistry.
He received a graduate teaching assistantship from Ball State University
in Geology and graduated from that school with an MS in Geology. Since arriving in Texas, he has taken
graduate courses at Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Environmental Chemistry.
He has been employed by Coastal Bend College since 1981
teaching CHEM 1406 (General and Biological Chemistry), CHEM 1411 & CHEM
1412 (General College Chemistry I & II) as well as GEOL 1305 (Environmental
Geology), GEOL 1403 (Physical Geology), and GEOL 1404 (Historical Geology) each
year. He retired at the end of May, 2014 and currently teaches Geology part-time for CBC.
