Danny Burns attended Ohio Northern University for two years after being accepted into the Pharmacy School but withdrew for financial reasons.  After working for several years, he entered the Defiance College where he completed a BA degree in Natural Systems, concentrating in Chemistry.  He received a graduate teaching assistantship from Ball State University in Geology and graduated from that school with an MS in Geology.  Since arriving in Texas, he has taken graduate courses at Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Environmental Chemistry.

He has been employed by Coastal Bend College since 1981 teaching CHEM 1406 (General and Biological Chemistry), CHEM 1411 & CHEM 1412 (General College Chemistry I & II) as well as GEOL 1305 (Environmental Geology), GEOL 1403 (Physical Geology), and GEOL 1404 (Historical Geology) each year.  He retired at the end of May, 2014 and currently teaches Geology part-time for CBC.

Mr. Burns grew up in Northwestern Ohio and lived there until moving to Indiana for graduate school and finally Texas to work at CBC (then Bee County College).   He has a life-long love of music of many genres that began with his parents who were teens when he was born and growing up listening to Detroit radio.   His mother and father were the first in their families to graduate high school and Mr. Burns was the first in his family to graduate college and complete an advanced degree.  He is married to a wonderful woman who understands and appreciates his humor.
