• Rolando Chavarria Jr., Associate Professor of Welding and Industry Technology Coordinator for Coastal Bend College (CBC), comes to CBC with fabricating and welding experience of 12 plus years. His experience includes welding in the oilfields, as well as with commercial companies. He is the owner and founder of Brothers Welding Shop in Alice, Texas.  Chavarria is certified in Torch and Regulator repair through Victor School, Dallas, Texas, and is a Certified Associate Welding Inspector through the American Welding Society (AWS). He is currently a member of AWS.  His educational experience was from Coastal Bend College, where he earned a Welding Level I Certificate, and a Welding Level II Certificate, and an Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Welding.

    As an alumnus of Coastal Bend College, Chavarria prides himself in assisting and mentoring students to continue their education to become productive citizens.  He enjoys taking students on recruiting events and demonstrating the latest technologies including the virtue welder and other high-tech welding equipment.

    Chavarria and his wife Laura and two daughters (Tiffany and Lindsey) and one son (Zach) all live in Alice, Texas. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with the family.
