• Julia Garcia, Dean of Workforce Training and Pleasanton Site Director for Coastal Bend College (CBC), comes to CBC with thirty plus years of workforce experience, and twelve years of higher education experience as an adjunct instructor and administrator. Her workforce experience includes selling products, and managing and supervising in the manufacturing industry along with the managing the logistics of importing and exporting food products globally. She is well versed in working with governmental agencies in a multitude of countries. 

    Garcia earned a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Baccalaureate of Applied Arts from Texas State University.  In the community college setting, she was instrumental in developing and creating curricula and implementing trainings for the public utilities, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and construction industries.   

    With student needs and success in mind, it gives her immense pleasure to work with faculty that are experts in their fields and have the willingness to be able to work with students and assist them in furthering their education, and prepare them to become good productive citizens of the community.  

    Garcia enjoys time with her family, playing ball with her grandson and watch him play little league basketball and baseball. It gives her great joy to watch her granddaughter dance at the halftime of the little league basketball games.
