About Dia Del Mariachi™
Coastal Bend
College’s Dia Del Mariachi™ Vocal and Group Competition will be held on
Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Jones Auditorium on the campus of Texas A
& M University in Kingsville, Texas. The competition’s best overall
elementary, middle school, and high school vocalists, and the best
overall groups from Middle School Division I and II, High School
Division I and II, and Composite Groups will be showcased in an evening
concert.
The mission
of Dia Del Mariachi™ is to strive for Mariachi music excellence;
develop young leaders with Hispanic cultural understanding; inspire a
spirit of pride and unity in the people and communities of South Texas.
The event is designed to provide students with experience in stage
performing, fellowship with other young musicians, listen to other
groups, and, best of all, to open for a professional/university Mariachi
in a concert.
