• Biography


     

    George E. Guidry (Eddie) is an Assistant Professor of Economics and Government at the Coastal Bend College Kingsville site. He possesses a Bachelors Degree from Lamar University (1984) and a Masters Degree from Wayland Baptist University (2006). In addition, he has pursued studies at Texas Tech University, Texas A&M University Kingsville, and American Military University. Areas of study include Economics, Government, and Education. He was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, Honor Society in Economics in 1983 and Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education in 2004. 

    Mr. Guidry teaches ECON 2301: Principles of Macroeconomics, ECON 2302: Principles of Microeconomics, and GOVT 2305; Federal Government. In each course, emphasis is placed on understanding the fundamental philosophies, principles, concepts, and theories of the subject including their underlying assumptions, limitations, and relevance to the “real” world. The goal is to cultivate in students an appreciation of the importance and relevance of the subject to both society and the individual. The desire is to better enable students to make more sense of what is happening in the world around them. 

    In his spare time, Mr. Guidry enjoys surf fishing at the Padre Island National Seashore and fishing for speckled trout on Baffin Bay.
