JOEL LOPEZ
Joel Lopez, Jr. was born and raised in Crystal City, Texas. After graduating from high school he attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, majoring in Biology (2007) and Instructional Technology (2011) respectively. His graduate work focused on the use of eLearning in Science-related courses. Joel is currently in his second year as a full time instructor at Coastal Bend College and has had a wonderful experience in impacting the lives of his students.
While a student, both undergraduate and graduate, at TAMUK, Joel taught various Freshman Biology labs for 5 years. He very much enjoys seeing the progress that students make as they grasp new concepts. Joel also worked as a graduate assistant in an instructional technology office assisting students and faculty become familiarized with Blackboard Learn.
In his spare time, Joel enjoys hanging out with friends, catching up on some books and TV shows, and tinkering with new technologies.
