Teresa Arnold Mayorga’s family moved to Kingsville, Texas
when she was 11. After graduating from H.
M. King high school, she attended Texas A&I University, earning a
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
Teresa worked in the chemical industry for 16+ years. Upon leaving industry, she went to work for
the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University – Kingsville, where she
also obtained her Master of Science in Chemistry with supporting course work in
Education, as well as an Alternative Teaching Certificate with a certification
to teach chemistry to grades 8-12.
Teresa taught chemistry at H. M. King High School from
2006-2012. During this time, she also
became an adjunct instructor for Coastal Bend College where she teaches Chemistry
1406 in the evening. In 2012 Teresa left
teaching high school and is now working full-time as a chemist for a water
district. She loves teaching adult
students who share their work experiences and help make the subject more applicable
to real life.
In her rare spare time Teresa loves hanging out with her daughter
