Qualified Career and Technical Education (CTE)
students are eligible to receive funds for support services under public law
101-392. Allocations will be determined by the number of participants and the
availability of funds.
To qualify, a student must have a 2.5 or higher
GPA, must be enrolled in CTE courses for the semester in which they receive
assistance, and must have a declared CTE major in Cougar Den by the application
deadline.
For the purposes of this scholarship,
pre-requisites for Allied Health Programs, and Core Curriculum Courses (CBC
General Education Requirements) are not considered CTE courses despite their
presence on a given degree plan.
You must also belong to
one or more of the below special populations to qualify for assistance:
Individuals with disabilities
Students must provide an up-to-date memo or accommodation letter
issued by the CBC Office of Accessibility Services
Individuals from economically disadvantaged
families, including low-income youth* and adults;
Financial Aid for the current semester must be on-file by
application deadline
Departmental, foundation, or other academic scholarships are not
considered as proof of financial need
Individuals preparing for non-traditional
fields;
Single parents, including single pregnant women;
Out-of-workforce individuals;
English learners;
Homeless individuals described in section 725 of
the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C 11434a);
Youth* who are in, or have aged out of, the foster
care system; and
Youth* with a parent who is
a member of the armed forces (as such term is
defined in section 101(a)(4) of title 10, United States Code);
and is on active duty (as such term is defined in section
101(d)(1) of such title).

items 2, 8, and 9 refers to individuals of age 17-24
