Life happens. Unexpected challenges can interrupt even the best plans. If a past-due balance or registration hold has kept you from returning to Coastal Bend College, Cougar ReConnect may provide a pathway back. Eligible former students can explore financial resolution options, reconnect with campus resources, and continue working toward completing a degree or credential.
Every student's journey is different. That's why our team takes the time to review your individual circumstances, discuss available options, and help you determine the best path back to CBC. Contact the CBC Business Office to schedule a confidential account review.

How Cougar ReConnect Can Help
Every student's financial situation is different. That's why there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. When you request a Cougar ReConnect review, our team will review your account and determine which financial resolution option may be available based on your individual circumstances.
Depending on your eligibility, options may include:
1. Cougar ReConnect Agreement
Eligible students may receive a personalized Cougar ReConnect Agreement outlining the financial resolution plan, student responsibilities, and requirements for continued enrollment. Approval may also include temporary removal of a registration hold while you remain in compliance with your agreement.
2. Financial Aid Review
If you have pending financial aid, our Financial Aid Office will review your eligibility to determine whether those funds may help satisfy your outstanding balance.
3. Financial Hardship Review
Students experiencing documented financial hardship may be eligible to submit an appeal for consideration through the College's established review process.
4. Payment Plan
Students who qualify may be able to repay their outstanding institutional balance through an approved payment plan, allowing them to return while making scheduled payments.
What to Expect
If you're approved for Cougar ReConnect, we'll work with you to develop a personalized plan for returning to CBC.
Your return plan may include:
- Temporary removal of a registration hold
- An approved Business Office payment plan
- Meetings with Financial Aid and Academic Advising
- Financial literacy resources, when appropriate
- Ongoing support throughout your first semester back
To remain in good standing, participants are expected to:
- Remain enrolled throughout the semester whenever possible
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Stay current on approved payment arrangements
- Meet the terms of their Cougar ReConnect Agreement
Continued participation depends on complying with the terms of your agreement. Failure to do so may result in reinstatement of your registration hold and could affect future eligibility for the program.
