Beeville, Texas — Coastal Bend College’s Radiologic Technology Student Club hosted its first-ever Rad Club Student Car Show on Saturday, August 2 from 10:00am to 3:00pm, at the Beeville Depot Pavilion.
The event drew 17 vehicles, with participants traveling from as far as Victoria to showcase their classic and custom rides. Community members enjoyed walking through a wide variety of cars, bidding on silent auction items, and cheering on their favorites despite the summer heat and competing events in the area.
Each entry contributed a $20 registration fee per car, with proceeds benefiting the Coastal Bend College Radiology Club. Funds raised will go toward student needs, including expenses for the ACERT Conference, Credentialing Examinations, and Graduation Regalia.
Special guests Michael Willow, Mayor of Beeville, and Kevin Behr, Beeville’s Chief of Police and a Coastal Bend College Board of Trustees member, attended the show and each voted on their favorite vehicles. Personalized trophies—crafted and donated by a Radiologic Technology student—were presented to the winners during the 2:00 p.m. awards.

Their contributions supported the silent auction, trophies, and sound system, helping make the inaugural event a success.
I think I can speak for everyone, when I say the event went very well. We had a great turnout and a wide variety of cars...And although it was hot and there were a lot of other events going on that day, we had a good number of people walking through. I do believe we are going to try and do the event again next year, just maybe in a cooler month. We were very honored that the Mayor and Chief of Police were able to come out and vote on their favorites, so big shout out to them.” said Kerri S. Manning, Radiology Clinical Preceptor, Instructional Services.
The Rad Club Student Car Show not only celebrated community connections but also highlighted the enthusiasm and teamwork of Coastal Bend College’s Radiologic Technology students. Plans are already underway to make the car show an annual tradition in Beeville.
