Thanksgiving Turkey Drive Brings Community Together

BEEVILLE, TEXAS - A Community Thanksgiving Turkey Drive was held on November 24 at the Coastal Bend College Beeville campus, bringing together community partners, volunteers, and local organizations to support families across Bee County during the holiday season.

The event was hosted in partnership with Beeville Main Street and the Beeville Police Department, with volunteers working together to distribute Thanksgiving meals and resources to families in need. Community members, elected officials, local business owners, and Coastal Bend College students and employees participated in the effort, many volunteering their time on a day off.

Support for the turkey drive was made possible through the involvement of local sponsors, including ACL Productions; Bee County Chamber of Commerce; Beeville ISD Police Department; BISD Athletics; Beeville Medical Clinic Walk-In; CC’s Local Coffee Shop; Citrus Smiles Lemonade; H-E-B; Kevin Behr; New Century Hospice; Serenity Counseling Services; Superior Auto Sales; and Walmart.

In addition to the Beeville campus event, Coastal Bend College’s Alice, Kingsville, and Pleasanton locations also took part in local Thanksgiving drives within their communities, extending the College’s outreach efforts across the Coastal Bend region.

The Community Thanksgiving Turkey Drive reflects Coastal Bend College’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and regional partnerships, particularly during the holiday season, when collaboration and support play a vital role in meeting local needs.group photo of community thanksgiving drive
