BEEVILLE, Texas — Community members are invited to pick up a free 2026 CBC Wildlife Calendar, now available at all Coastal Bend College locations and at the Beeville Chamber of Commerce, while supplies last.
A beloved annual tradition, the CBC Wildlife Calendar celebrates the natural beauty of the Coastal Bend and highlights the talent of South Texas photographers. Each year, the calendar offers a glimpse into the region’s diverse wildlife, landscapes, and natural character.
The cover of the 2026 calendar features a green heron, photographed by South Texas photographer Sylvia A. Garcia-Smith. The striking image reflects CBC’s ongoing commitment to showcasing native wildlife while elevating local creative voices.
Photographs submitted for the calendar are reviewed by a panel of local wildlife experts. Each year, CBC invites photographers from across South Texas to submit images of native birds, flowers, insects, reptiles, animals, and regional landscapes. The 2026 Wildlife Calendar judging and review committee included Karen Benson and Jimmy Jackson, who also properly identified the featured species, ensuring accuracy alongside artistic excellence.
