Sitemap Breadcrumbs versus History Breadcrumbs

Ektron CMS400.NET provides two kinds of breadcrumbs:

sitemap

history

Sitemap breadcrumbs display the path through the sitemap to the current page, like the path shown in a Yahoo! directory listing. Sitemap breadcrumbs always show the same path to a page, regardless of how it is reached. To use a sitemap breadcrumb, see Creating SiteMap Breadcrumbs.

History breadcrumbs more accurately fulfill the breadcrumb trail metaphor. They display a history of links to the most recently visited pages. The BreadCrumb server control displays history breadcrumbs. Site visitors can use a breadcrumb trail to jump to previously visited pages. To user history breadcrumbs, see BreadCrumb Server Control.
