Give Kids a Smile

UPDATE: This event has been rescheduled for March 1, 2025 from 9am - 3pm.
Coastal Bend College (CBC) is once again hosting its annual Free Sealant Day, providing free dental sealants and preventive oral health care for children and adolescents in the community. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Coastal Bend College Dental Hygiene Clinic in Beeville as part of the national Give Kids a Smile initiative, organized by the American Dental Association (ADA).
CBC’s Free Sealant Day is an annual tradition that brings together faculty, students, and local dental professionals to offer free services, including dental sealants, which are a thin, protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars to help prevent cavities. Sealants create a smooth surface over the natural pits and grooves of the teeth, making it easier to keep them clean and reducing the risk of decay. Other services include oral health education to promote lifelong healthy habits and dental screenings to assess potential issues and provide referrals if needed.
Walk-ins are welcome, but a parent or legal guardian must accompany all youth receiving care. This event is open to children ages 3 – 12, and adolescents between the ages of 13 – 17.

The Give Kids a Smile program, launched by the ADA in 2003, has provided millions of underserved children across the country with free oral health services through volunteer efforts. Coastal Bend College is honored to participate in this nationwide effort, helping local families prioritize their children’s dental health.
