2 sections in Kingsville and 1 section in Pleasanton. Ms. Aguilar is working on

the paired EDUC 1300 section as a pilot. Courses will be linked at registration.
Course
delivery as hybrid was discussed. At the last meeting the committee discussed
meeting the class face to face for both parts and not do the course as a hybrid
course. The possibility of having the linked classes as all face-to-face and
the sections that are not linked to developmental as hybrid was discussed. Dr.
Johnson sent a text to Ms. Aguilar regarding scheduling After sending a text to
Ms. Aguilar regarding scheduling. Ms. Aguilar stated that all sections were
face to face except those taught by Ms. Aguilar and Mrs. Atkins. Those teaching
hybrid will meet both face-to-face and online portions for the first month
only. Access to computer labs will be arranged for students and the Student
Success Center coordinators will be included in the training program.
Kick-off for
marketing has been set with activities to encourage student enrollment. There
will be food, prizes, t-shirts and other goodies for students. Advisors will be
trained to sell the course. Alice: Dr. Candia suggested 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

and counselors will be present.
Kingsville: Check with Mr. Leal
Pleasanton: Check with Mr. Lindeman
Beeville: Check with Mr. Treviño
The purpose
of this is not to recruit students for the class. Those currently enrolled are
not our target. The purpose is a kick-off to make sure the campus
community knows about the class, why we are doing it and who we are targeting.
Dr. Johnson
stated she would have Susan Smedley develop a flyer for immediate distribution.
Due to Mr.
Smedley’s absence today an update for FastFacts was not available.
Amador
Ramirez asked for directions on what to put on the public QEP website. The
committee decided just things like FastFacts and decisions rather than Minutes.
This would include any marketing material to get the word out there.
Dr. Johnson asked
about the catalog and asked if we needed something in there about My
Cougar Course. Mrs. Atkins suggested
that Dr. Johnson and Ms. Aguilar develop this.
Mrs. Atkins
demonstrated week one of the curriculum.
Individuals
to be trained were discussed. An initial list was reviewed and additional
suggestions were made. Training will take two
days and faculty will receive a $200 stipend for training. The dates of
April 19th and 26th were selected with training 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch
break. The college will provide lunch.
The QEP
budget was presented. Dr. Candia helped Dr. Johnson complete the budget and it
is due right away. There were no comments or suggestions.
Dr. Johnson

March 23rd deadline for submitting curriculum. Linked courses are face-to-face. Other courses are hybrid with instructors
spending the first month with the students in the computer lab. Classrooms will be reserved. Kick-offs scheduled and Dr. Johnson will coordinate
with appropriate individuals. QEP public site will not include Minutes. Dr. Johnson will get with Noemi about catalog
listing for this. Dr. Johnson will get with Noemi on who to train.
